The Book
If you’re interested in learning more about my military adventures and reading about the untold stories of submarine espionage–true stories that inspired Tom Clancy–then read what submariners call, “The Book". Blind Man’s Bluff The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew, investigative reporters
for the New York Times.
Sontag and Drew spent years researching the book–with naval investigators on their heels–spending time with the men who were sent on these dangerous missions after signing a secrecy oath to never speak of them again. Not to their families. Not to anyone.
Blind Man’s Bluff is their story–and mine. Exploits from all three of my boats are mentioned in “The book".
It was the most exciting thing I have ever done in my life. The adrenaline flowed like water! Read the book...you’ll see why.
In 2004 I was honored with a unique opportunity to go along with a Fox 11 TV crew on an American nuclear submarine conducting exercises off the coast of California. Getting to dive once again, as a civilian, after 35 years, is an amazing feat!
I’m a lucky man.
